Fly Fishing Lures on Standing Frame
One of our personal favorite examples to present is the Standing Frame features Fly Fishing Lures. This piece won first prize in a framing contest. The flies are mounted on cork and fastened to wavy blue glass, which is then mounted on a burl wood background. The 14″ x 17″ frame is a combination of different woods, cut and pieced together with a hand-carved acorn on top. The hand-painted decoration on the inner top of the frame emulates the markings of a rainbow trout.

Shadowboxed Christening Gown
This piece is 24″ x 36″, with an ornate antique gold outer frame and an off-white crackle inner frame with a gold beaded fillet. The gown is mounted on an off-white silk fabric and glazed with museum glass.
Double Framed Antique Tool Set
Another stunning example of this framing style is the Double Framed Antique Tool Set. This 24″ x 18″ box set of antique tools in an octagonal double frame with fillet, mounted on suede backing.
Front Opening Antique Silver Frame
A classic use of the style is evident in this piece. The 10″ x 10″ x 4.5″ frame features a doily with cup and saucer in a very deep antique silver frame, cut and hinged to open from the front.
